Columbus withstood an impressive performance by Portland right fielder Motoyasu Baba to defeat the Beavers, 5-4, at Waterfront Park. Baba was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The losing streak for Portland has now reached 4 games.

Cristo Morán made it 5-4 in favor of Columbus when he delivered a solo home run. It came with two out in the top of the tenth. The Aces went on to win.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Columbus manager Chris Schell.
