Hornets Suffer 7-2 Loss to Earthquakes
|
The San Francisco Earthquakes got a stellar effort from pitcher Noriyuki Ikeda, helping San Francisco score a 7-2 win over the visiting Eureka Hornets. At 54-80, the Earthquakes are currently last in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
Luis Álvarez delivered a big hit for the Earthquakes. The veteran catcher belted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. The longball put San Francisco on top, 6-2. Overall, Álvarez went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Ikeda told the San Francisco Observer.
