Stogies Roll Over Hornets, 9-2
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Kohei Matsumoto, the Havana Stogies defeated the Eureka Hornets, 9-2. Matsumoto went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Stogies. The Stogies improved to a lofty 97-35.
Also having an impact was shortstop Silvio Garcia, who stroked a single in the bottom of the second for Havana. For the game, Garcia was 2 for 3 with a triple and a walk.
"We took it on the chin today," said losing manager Stephen Jackson.
