Columbus Wastes Great Game by Morán
Columbus catcher Cristo Morán had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Morán slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice, even as Vancouver beat the Aces, 8-6. Morán was named the player of the game despite the loss. The Pioneers, at 70-61, sit in third place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.

Ruben Torres contributed to the Vancouver win. The 29-year old left fielder stroked a 3-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, Torres went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.

"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Torres.
