Late Rally by Pioneers Seals 4th Straight Win
|
Bloomington wasted a solid 8-inning effort from starting pitcher Rubén Cabrera, losing to Vancouver, 2-1, at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards. The winner was Garry Strode in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Graeme Hughes took the loss. The Blazers, now 4-9, continue their poor start.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 1-1, catcher Baskoro Pamungkas won it for Vancouver. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Pamungkas hit a 2-0 fastball from Graeme Hughes for a run-scoring double, giving his team a 2-1 win.
"We scored one run," said Bloomington manager Javier Ramírez. "You're not gonna get a lot of Ws scoring just one run."
