|
In a close game at Lucky 7 Ballpark, the Quebec Armada edged the Portland Beavers, 5-4. Quebec center fielder Wei-qiang Ju earned the nod as player of the game. He was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 3 times. Darma Djojohadiksumo, credited with the win, is now 6-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Quebec is second in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division with a record of 72-57.
Jeffrey Henderson produced a go-ahead single for Quebec in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Henderson hit a run-scoring single off Olivier Martin. It put the Armada in front, 5-4.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Ju said.
