The Dallas Texans picked up a win at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards, knocking off the Vancouver Pioneers, 4-2. On the mound for Dallas was right-hander Paul Johnston, who played a pivotal role in the win. Adrien Clément earned the save, his 42nd, for the Texans. The Texans improved to 67-59.
Going deep for Dallas was Esteban Ruíz. The second baseman had a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning for the Texans. It put his team ahead, 2-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Ruíz went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Johnston.
