Jake Adkins pitched a gem to lead Portland to a 5-1 victory over the Rubber City Rhinos. With the win over Rubber City, the Beavers improved to 54-72.

Lai-hsiang Xiu took Gabriel Núñez deep with two out in the bottom of the first. On a 0-1 fastball, Xiu drilled a 2-run home run to right. It was his 21st home run of the season and put Portland on top, 2-0.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Beavers manager Ryan Blandford, "I like our chances."
