Georgia beat Eureka at The Death Star, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Jarek Domaszewski, who earned player of the game honors. He went 1-1 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 times. Bernalldo Rocchi finished the game for Georgia and earned his 27th save. Georgia has 3 straight wins, Eureka 3 straight losses.
The Grays used some clutch hitting to beat the Hornets, a good example being the at-bat of Lachlan Miners in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, Miners gave his team the lead, 5-2, when he hit a bases-clearing triple.
"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Domaszewski told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
