Islanders, Dannattet Pin Bad Loss on Aces
|
The Hawaii Islanders used an offensive barrage to beat the Columbus Aces, 10-2, at Aloha Stadium. Douglas Dannattet led the way, going 3-for-5 for Hawaii. The win was Gerardo Garza's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Chris Riddle took the loss for Columbus. At 75-48, the Islanders find themselves in second place in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
The Islanders got a gift in the bottom of the fourth inning. With the game was tied, 2-2, Zane Mogeni reached on an error by the shortstop, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-2, Hawaii.
Columbus manager Chris Schell called the blowout loss "a real stinker."
