Great Effort by Franco Wasted in 11-6 Blazers Loss
Bloomington shortstop Fernando Franco pounded Maple Marauders pitchers at Legends Park, but it was not enough to keep the Blazers from falling, 11-6. Franco went 3-3 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Maple is now 72-48, Bloomington 62-60.

Trailing 4-3, Maple hopes soared in the bottom of the fourth inning when the 26-year old catcher Motonobu Yamasaki lifted a 0-1 slider into the stands for a 3-run home run. The round-tripper put the Marauders up, 6-4.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Marauders manager Jesús Alfaro. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
