The first-place So Cal Republic picked up another win at House of the Republic.
Ross Allan never let the Beavers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Republic to a 6-1 win. Allan got the win, improving to 8-7. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Allan allowed 1 earned run.
So Cal left fielder Jon Pittman made his contribution to the Republic cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth inning. For the day, Pittman was 2-5 with a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Allan.
At 77-43, the Republic find themselves in first place in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.
