The rain came, as predicted, but the Hawaii Islanders and Jacksonville Jacks were able to complete their ballgame.
The Hawaii Islanders dealt the Jacksonville Jacks a 8-3 loss at Skellington Stadium. Antonio Roman was the star on offense. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Their 72-47 record puts the Islanders second in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
Hawaii grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Roman, who is on pace for 118 RBI this season, hit a 3-run home run. His 33rd home run of the season put the Islanders out in front, 4-1.
"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," Roman said in postgame remarks.
