Marauders Lose to Pioneers, 7-5
Motonobu Yamasaki had a good game, but he could not keep the Maple Marauders from falling, 7-5, to the Vancouver Pioneers at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards. The Maple catcher went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. The win was Daryl Wyles's in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Steve McBryde took the loss for Maple. Garry Strode finished to wrap up his 36th save.

Vancouver took a 7-5 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, third baseman Ron Verity hit a 2-run home run that aroused the crowd.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Verity said.

The Pioneers saw their win-loss record go to 64-54. At the same time, the Marauders fell to 70-47.
