Big Day by Comiskey Sparks Jacks Win
|
Jacksonville center fielder Stanley Comiskey had a 5-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 10-4 win over the Brooklyn Black Knights. Walt Lawson, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 5 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 7-8. Jacksonville now sits at 50-64, while Brooklyn falls to 66-49.
Comiskey contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Jacksonville in the top of the third. With his team trailing 4-2, Comiskey took a fastball from Koi-sho An and stroked the home run to left. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Jacks to leap in front, 6-4.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Comiskey.
