The New York Mafia defeated the Hawaii Islanders, 7-1, in Roberto Clemente League action at Aloha Stadium. Clarence Anderson received player of the game honors. The 10-year veteran went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. New York reliever Tsuyoshi Tadokoro picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Keith Martin shouldered the loss. Even with the win, the Mafia have a dismal 40-77 record.

Jorge Castillo took Keith Martin deep in the top of the third. His 3-run home run put the Mafia in front, 3-0. For the game, Castillo was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
