Baba belts 2 home runs as Beavers Squeeze Past San Diego
Portland right fielder Motoyasu Baba picked up 5 ribbies while helping his team beat back the San Diego Hops, 8-7. Portland reliever Michael Smith was the winner. His record is now 3-10. The losing pitcher was Alberto Rivera. San Diego now has a 7-game losing streak.

There was more than one reason the Beavers beat the Hops, but Baba's big at-bat in the top of the fourth was an important factor. He staked his team to a 8-4 lead when he hit a grand slam.
