Portland and Seattle put this game in the books despite some rain.
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 24-year old left fielder Motoyasu Baba, the Portland Beavers stopped the Seattle Sasquatch, 6-2. Portland reliever Pepe Trevino picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. António Navarro shouldered the loss. Rolf Pals earned the save, his 2nd, for the Beavers.
Baba came through with some timely hitting for Portland. With the score 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth and no one down, Baba hit a 0-1 changeup for a solo home run. His 14th home run of the season made it 4-2, Portland.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Baba said after the game.
The last-place Beavers raised their record to 50-67.
