Loss Extends Seattle Losing Streak
|
Portland Beavers starter Felipe De La Hoya turned in a sterling performance against the Seattle Sasquatch, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Tim Stady Jr. got credit for the save for Portland. It was his 18th of the year. The misery continues for the Sasquatch, which has now dropped 11 in a row.
Portland right fielder Ellis Stockdale contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 23rd hit of the season and put the Beavers ahead, 3-2.
"The want-to is there for our guys," said Seattle manager Carl Best. "We'll get this thing turned around."
