Marauders Edge Past Toreros, 6-5

The Maple Marauders did just enough to sneak past the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 6-5, at Legends Park. Maple catcher Motonobu Yamasaki earned player of the game honors. Maple reliever Marcos León was the winner. His record is now 9-3. Amirtharaj Nagaraja took the loss. Maple is now 68-43, 3½ games up in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Maple trailing 5-3, Ji-hyun Kim hit a curveball from Amirtharaj Nagaraja to right for a 3-run home run. Just like that, the Marauders had a walk-off win.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Yamasaki said.
