Streaking Pioneers Win Another One
|
Kelsey Sherrill helped his team muscle past the Mile High Mustangs, 6-3. In the game, the Vancouver first baseman went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Garry Strode earned the save for Vancouver, his 31st of the year. The Pioneers, now 58-52, have won 6 in a row.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Sherrill, who is a three-time All-Star, hit a solo home run. It propelled the Pioneers into the lead, 2-1.
"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Emmett Brown.
