Tornadoes Stumble, Lose to Earthquakes
The San Francisco Earthquakes defeated the Kansas City Tornadoes, 10-4, in Thurman Munson League action at Golden Gate Park. Pablo López received player of the game honors. The 15-year veteran went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Noriyuki Ikeda earned the win for San Francisco. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out 10. With the win, he raised his record to 3-3. The Earthquakes sit in last place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division with a record of 42-67.

In the bottom of the 5th, the Earthquakes grabbed the lead on a two-out double by Dennis Williams. San Francisco at the time was trailing 4-3, but Williams's 2-run double off Enrique Canó put his team in front.
