The San Diego Hops knocked off the New York Mafia, 7-5, at Don Corleone Park. Tom Cassidy, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason San Diego won. The designated hitter went 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Juan Vázquez was credited with the save for San Diego, his 13th of the season. The Hops now have a mark of 51-56.
It could have been a different outcome for San Diego, had it not been for Robbie Colwill, the 26-year old left fielder . Colwill contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put San Diego up, 4-2.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Cassidy.
