Pioneers Defeat Armada, 4-3
The Vancouver Pioneers defeated the Quebec Armada, 4-3, at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards today. Leading the charge for Vancouver was third baseman Ron Verity. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Marcus Clifton got the win, improving to 8-8. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. Vancouver is now 55-52, Quebec 63-45.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Verity, who is a eight-time All-Star, hit a run-scoring double. It propelled the Pioneers into the lead, 1-0.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Quebec manager Jorge Morales said following the tough loss.
