Behind a solid performance from center fielder Dennis Mayne, the Eureka Hornets defeated the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 5-2. Mayne was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Hornets. The Hornets now have a record of 62-45 with the win over Cabo San Lucas.

Eureka took a 5-1 lead on Mayne's 12th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which he hit off Jesús Ramos in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Eureka to the win.

"Good win for us," said Mayne. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
