Beavers Clip Black Knights in Tight Contest

The Portland Beavers faced a tough opponent in Brooklyn pitcher Fred Price, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Blue Ivy Stadium by a final score of 5-4. Price went 7 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. The win was Juan Quezada's in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Fred Price took the loss for Brooklyn. Tim Stady Jr. recorded the save for Portland, his 16th of the season.
Ralph Blair made it 4-3 in favor of Portland when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Beavers went on to win.
"Both teams played hard," said Portland manager Ryan Blandford.
The Beavers go to 46-62, putting them last in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.
