Yoshino Leads Grays to Win
|
The Georgia Grays downed the Bloomington Blazers, 11-5, at Celestrial Fields at Hermann Park. Tadataka Yoshino led the way, going 4-for-4 for Georgia. Orlando Días, the winner, improved to 4-2. He held Bloomington to 1 earned run on 6 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts. Norberto Barrón closed the game out for Georgia, earning his 1st save.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth inning. Facing Bloomington hurler Rubén Cabrera, Armando Moreno, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, hit a single. The Grays went on to win.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Georgia manager Davey Morris.
Today's win puts Georgia at 40-67, while Bloomington falls to 53-53.
