Hops Suffer 7-4 Loss to Mafia
|
New York right fielder Andreas Ryan made his presence felt in the 7-4 Mafia triumph over the San Diego Hops. Ryan went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Mito Ishikawa got credit for the win, improving to 4-6. He allowed 3 runs on 11 hits in 8 innings. At 36-72, New York is in last place in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Ryan, who was drafted in the two round of the 2026 draft, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Mafia into the lead, 3-1.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Mafia manager Roberto Campos. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
