Toreros Lose to Prowlers, 5-4
|
Cabo San Lucas got a terrific performance from second baseman Damian Hoolahan, but it wasn't enough to beat the Oklahoma City Prowlers. Oklahoma City won the Field de Los Layendas contest, 5-4. Hoolahan was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Ryan Goldberg, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 9. His record now stands at 9-8. Shu-yaan Qi nailed down his 7th save.
In the top of the first inning, shortstop Eric Clements delivered a key hit for the Prowlers. With Oklahoma City leading 1-0, he ripped a 2-run home run.
Clements described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
Oklahoma City is 44-63 and Cabo San Lucas, with the loss, 46-60.
