Morris Lifts Blazers to 8-5 Triumph
|
The Bloomington Blazers bested the Eureka Hornets, 8-5, at Celestrial Fields at Hermann Park. Jack Morris was named player of the game. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Oliver Romero earned the win to go to 12-7. He allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits, with no walks and 1 strikeout. With the win over Eureka, the Blazers improved to 53-52.
In the bottom of the second inning, Eugene Axe contributed a big hit for the Blazers. With Bloomington leading 2-1, he hammered a 2-run home run.
"We played hard and won," said Morris. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
