The So Cal Republic picked up a win at House of the Republic, knocking off the New York Mafia, 5-2. Starting pitcher Felipe Rodríguez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The save went to Pin-zhen Au, his 18th this season. The first-place Republic have won 6 in a row.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Pin-zhen Au didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and New York trailing 4-2, Au retired Bob Miller to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Au, with a wink.
