Havana starter Felipe Arreola put a stranglehold on the Portland offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Stogies to a 2-1 win. Teguh Suharto earned the save, his 38th. Havana has an impressive 77-30 record.

Also having an impact was center fielder Monte Irvin, who stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth for Havana. For the game, Irvin went 1-3.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Arreola said.
