Oklahoma City Blanks Jacks, Greenshield at His Best
|
The Oklahoma City Prowlers did little to support starter Caiden Greenshield against the Jacksonville Jacks, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Jacks, striking out 5 and surrendering 6 hits. The performance from Greenshield allowed Oklahoma City to escape with the 1-0 win despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said 'Caiden, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Greenshield told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
This season Greenshield has crafted a 9-7 mark with a 2.71 ERA in 132.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .247 against him and he has 123 strikeouts.
