Kansas City and New York engaged in a slugfest at Don Corleone Park.

The Kansas City Tornadoes had to overcome a big game from New York first baseman Kimi Kokura to leave Don Corleone Park with a 13-11 victory. Kokura was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Bill Daniels earned the save for Kansas City, his 18th of the year.

In the top of the eighth, Kansas City center fielder Bing-de Xian had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Xian stroked a 2-run triple to right. It made the score 13-7, Kansas City. For the game, he went 3 for 6 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Tornadoes manager Glenn Rowe. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

Kansas City now sits at 37-66, while New York falls to 35-68.
