Hops Cut Down Earthquakes, 9-5
San Diego center fielder Martín Árias made his presence felt in the 9-5 Hops triumph over the San Francisco Earthquakes. Árias was 3-5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The Hops go to 47-52, putting them 4th in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.

Árias had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-1 knuckle curve from Na'il bin Bashshar, he banged a bases-clearing triple to center, giving the Hops a 7-5 lead. It was the 8th triple of the year for Árias.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Árias said after the game.
