Flores, Beavers Rough Up Marauders
|
The Portland Beavers coasted to a win over the Maple Marauders, 11-3. Roberto Flores had a good day at the plate for Portland. He went 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. Iván Morales picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-2. He struck out 7 in 5.1 innings. The Beavers move to 43-59 with the win, while the Marauders drop to 62-37.
Anuvaha Tasha, who is a two-time All-Star, helped out the Portland cause in the bottom of the third inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the third baseman went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Flores told reporters after the game.
