Bombers Lose to Sasquatch, 6-2
|
The Seattle Sasquatch trumped the South Carolina Bombers, 6-2, at Bomber Ballpark. Seattle shortstop Shojiro Watanabe was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The losing streak for South Carolina has now reached 4 games.
Watanabe had a game-changing double in the top of the seventh. On a 2-2 knuckleball from Prince Percival Papenfuss, he banged a run-scoring double to right, giving the Sasquatch a 3-2 lead. It was the 18th double of the year for Watanabe.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Watanabe. "Just do my job."
