|
The Rubber City Rhinos got a sterling performance from pitcher Sigfrid Arnim, but the Marauders still prevailed, 4-3. Arnim was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings allowing 2 runs. Maple reliever Alonso Esquivel picked up the win, upping his record to 8-0. John Cosman was saddled with the loss. Maple leads the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division by 5 games.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 3-3, pinch hitter Will Southern won it for Maple. With the bases empty, Southern hit a 0-1 slider from John Cosman for a solo home run, giving his team a 4-3 win.
"This place was rockin'," said Southern.
