Toreros Stumble, Lose to Republic
|
Masafumi Tamura pitched a gem to lead So Cal to a 8-1 victory over the Cabo San Lucas Toreros. Tamura, now 10-7, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. So Cal goes to 59-38. The win puts them 3 games up in their division.
Doing his part for So Cal was third baseman Jong-min Kim Jr., who stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth. For the game, Kim Jr. went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We looked pretty good up and down," said So Cal manager Munenori Sato.
