Blitzed by Kim Jr., Republic, Islanders Sink Further in R3
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of third baseman Jong-min Kim Jr., the So Cal Republic stopped the visiting Hawaii Islanders, 8-1, in Game 2 of the League Pennant today. Kim Jr. hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Republic, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
So Cal left fielder Jon Pittman helped the Republic go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the second inning. With the game tied, Pittman hit a run-scoring double off Hawaii pitcher Ehrich Weiss.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Kim Jr..
The next game is set to be played on Monday, November 1st, 2032 at Aloha Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Felipe Rodríguez for the Republic and Ehrich Weiss for the Islanders.
