González, So Cal Open R3 Strong with 9-3 Win
The So Cal Republic started the League Pennant in style today, downing the visiting Hawaii Islanders at House of the Republic by a score of 9-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Republic center fielder Orlando González was named player of the game after he was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.

With runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the bottom of the second inning, designated hitter Zeus Mayhem delivered big for the Republic. So Cal was leading 2-0 when he belted a 3-run home run.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Mayhem.

The next game is scheduled for Saturday, October 30th, 2032 at House of the Republic. Slated to start are Rodrigo Garza for Hawaii and Tanner Johnson for So Cal.
