Hornets Clip Republic 1-0 in R4 Contest
|
In a crucial game, the Eureka Hornets put on their best show, beating the So Cal Republic by a final score of 1-0 today. Morgan Tyson earned player of the game honors, as he threw 8 innings of shutout ball. Eureka and So Cal are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.
Tied up with the Republic in the top of the fifth inning, the Hornets got a boost from left fielder Juan González. With the bases empty, González saw a first pitch fastball from Masafumi Tamura and hit a solo home run to break the stalemate and put Eureka on top, 1-0.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," González said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The next game is scheduled for Monday, November 8th, 2032. The scheduled starters for the game are Tanner Johnson for the So Cal Republic and Jorge Salazar for the the Eureka Hornets.
