Ramsey, So Cal Start ABL World Series Strong with Home Win
With catcher Drake Ramsey leading the charge, the So Cal Republic defeated the visiting Eureka Hornets, 13-10, in Game 1 of the ABL World Series today. Ramsey went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 at House of the Republic to help So Cal take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Gerd Zabel, who is rated as the 7th best prospect by BNN, aided the So Cal cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder went 1-3 with a home run and was hit 2 times. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Zabel said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Los Angeles. Slated to start are Morgan Tyson for Eureka and Masafumi Tamura for So Cal.
