Tamura Handcuffs Texans, Republic Seize 2-1 Advantage in R2
|
With starter Masafumi Tamura leading the charge, the So Cal Republic defeated the Dallas Texans, 3-2, in Game 3 of the Divisional Championship today. The left-hander threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs at Metroplex Park to help So Cal take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Luis Hernández hit a full count fastball from Adrien Clément for a run-scoring double. It put So Cal in front, 3-2.
"We'll savor this win," Hernández told the So Cal Daily, "then get ready for the next game."
Game 4 is scheduled for Saturday, October 23rd, 2032 at Metroplex Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Masafumi Tamura for So Cal and Tony López for Dallas.
