Tornadoes Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Mustangs
Both teams had their chances, but the Kansas City Tornadoes eventually prevailed at McNichols Stadium.

The Kansas City Tornadoes eked out a 7-6 win versus the Mile High Mustangs at McNichols Stadium. Nobody did more than designated hitter Oliver North, who captured player of the game honors. Kansas City, now 4-6, is off to a slow start.

This game was not decided until Matt Winters came to bat in the top of the ninth. With a runner on 3rd and one out, the Kansas City left fielder hit a sacrifice fly. The Tornadoes took the lead, 7-6.

"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Winters.
