Buller Blasts Bombers, Hornets Take Game 2, 9-6
|
The Eureka Hornets relied on the hitting of first baseman Don Buller to get by the South Carolina Bombers, 9-6, in Game 2 of the League Pennant today. For the game, Buller was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The clubs are now tied, 1-1.
Had Ka-fei Bi not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Bi hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Hornets.
"We came out aggressive," said Hornets manager Stephen Jackson. "We came out swinging the bats."
Game 3 is set to be played on Monday, November 1st, 2032 at The Nest. The scheduled starters for the game are Ángel Ruíz for the Bombers and Pat Sheffield for the Hornets.
