Home Field Advantage: Schmit, South Carolina Open League Pennant with Win
The South Carolina Bombers started the League Pennant in style today, downing the visiting Eureka Hornets at Bomber Ballpark by a score of 6-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Bombers left-hander Ange Schmit was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings allowing 1 run.

Sweet Spanker aided the South Carolina cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.

"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," South Carolina manager Randy Huggett told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."

Game 2 is set to be played on Saturday, October 30th, 2032 at Bomber Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are Mitsunari Kobayashi for Eureka and Ange Schmit for South Carolina.
