Sasquatch Topple Texans with Late Rally
|
The Seattle Sasquatch defeated the Dallas Texans, 4-3, in Roberto Clemente League action at Sick's Stadium, with Seattle pitcher Tadahisa Minami named player of the game. Seattle reliever Tadahisa Minami was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Paul Johnston took the loss for Dallas. George Fortin sewed up the save, his 25th.
In the bottom of the 8th, second baseman Francisco Valdéz gave Seattle the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Sasquatch had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Dallas pitcher Paul Johnston changed that -- and Seattle went on to win.
Dallas manager Anastasio Ojeda said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Seattle is now 42-51.
