Toreros Get Close Win Over Blazers
|
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros bested the Bloomington Blazers by a score of 8-4, with first baseman George Guinn getting the main credit. On the day, Guinn was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Toreros. Cabo San Lucas reliever Chris Wheeler was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Rubén Cabrera took the loss. With the win, the Toreros improved to 41-53.
Guinn had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count slider from Joseph Kelley, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Toreros a 8-4 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Guinn.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Guinn.
