Pioneers Hammered by Abbott, Fall Further Behind in R2
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of third baseman Ken Abbott, the South Carolina Bombers stopped the visiting Vancouver Pioneers, 5-2, in Game 2 of the Divisional Championship today. Abbott was 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and a walk for the Bombers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
The Bombers used some clutch hitting to beat the Pioneers, a good example being the at-bat of Jesús Dela in the bottom of the first. With two down, Dela gave his team the lead, 2-1, when he hit a 2-run triple.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said South Carolina manager Randy Huggett.
The next game is set to be played on Friday, October 22nd, 2032 at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards. Slated to start are Sotatsu Hayagawa for South Carolina and Qi-chang Ec for Vancouver.
